Jure, Kamničan, ki se je letos skoraj preselil na Karpatos in Dominik Schönthal - G265, mladi nemški srfač in Fanatic national team rider, sta prejšnji teden srfala v Ližnjanu na orkanski burji in posnela video (ki ga lahko vidite v nadaljevanju). Poleg tega je na Style prošnjo nastal še intervju z rajderjem iz videa, ki ima žal nesrečen a ne tragičen konec...
1. Who are u?
My Name is Dominik Schönthal and I am 21 years old.
2. When did u start windsurfing?
I started Windsurfing in the age of 11. But only in summerholidays to kill some time.
In the age of 16 it became my first Sport and I started to train and go surfing as often as possible.
3. Favourite discipline?
Freestyle of course... :D.
4. what's your favourite move?
My favourite Move is the Shaka. But very fast Flakas I like a lot too.
5. Are u interested in competitons?
I wanted to take part in EFPT this year, but all events are in the time when I am in Dahab or Karpathos, or when I have exams. I hope that I can do some German events.
6. Favourite spots?
Karpathos, Sardegna, Netherlands, Savudrija and of course Liznjan ;)
7. How come u surf here (close to Slovenia)?
Ok, long story I think. My girlfriend lives in Slovenija and I have a lot of friends in Slovenija who are windsurfers as well. So when I am here in Slovenija, we always check the weather and go surfing together....
8. What do u think about the spots and the wind here?
In my opinion there are a lot of great spots such as Premantura for Burja and Yugo. Savudrija is great for waves and Umag as well. For me the best spot is Liznjan, because its flatwater and good for me to train freestyle.
The winds are quite strong especially Burja... I have never surfed Yugo, because I had bad luck.
9. Have u ever hurt yourself when windsurfing?
Haha, this time in Liznjan was the first time in my career. I ripped my ear-drum in the last move you can see in the video...
10. Do u think it is possible for a windsurfer to have a girlfriend that doesnt surf?
I think it is all a matter of arrangemet. I am happy that my girlfriend is very interested in windsurfing and that we have the same way of lifestyle. So what do you want more.... :D
11. How was it last time in Ližnjan, what were u thinking before, when doing and after the last move we see on the video and how would u call it?
I was thinking that i will crash very hard, because I was quite overpowered and I never did a shaka with so much power in my sail. I would call this last move "into hospital" because it brought me there...
